Leo and Ellie: The Great Teddy Bear Rescue!

The Big Toy Robbery

Little Leo the Lion cub was having a very sad day. His favorite toy, a big, fluffy blue teddy bear named "Bluey," was gone!

"Boo hoo!" cried Leo, his little face crumpled up with tears.

Who took it? A cheeky Monkey! The monkey had swung down, snatched Bluey right out of Leo's paws, and scampered high up into the tallest tree. Leo was too small to climb, and he felt helpless.

Best Friend For Help

Just then, his best friend, Ellie the Elephant, came over. Ellie was big, strong, and always knew how to cheer Leo up.

"Don't worry, Leo!" Ellie trumpeted gently. "That's what best friends are for! I promise, I will get Bluey back for you."

Leo wiped his eyes and watched as Ellie marched right up to the big tree. Sure enough, perched on a high branch, was the naughty monkey, holding Bluey!

Ellie took a deep breath and stretched her long, strong trunk way, way up—higher than Leo thought possible! Whoosh! With a careful little grab, Ellie snatched the teddy bear right off the branch.

She gently lowered her trunk and placed the beautiful blue teddy bear right back into Leo's paws.

Leo's sadness vanished in a flash! He gave Bluey a huge hug and then turned to his amazing friend.

"Oh, Ellie! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Leo roared happily (though it was more of a tiny cub roar). "You're the best friend in the whole jungle!"

Ellie winked her big eye. "That's right, Leo! That's what friends are for—to help each other, especially when a silly monkey steals a favorite teddy bear!"
