He Is My New Friend

“Mom, come with me. I’ll introduce my new friend to you,” the excited baby elephant invited her mother to meet his new friend. Elephant mother was anxious to learn who her son’s best friend is.

When mother elephant saw her son’s new friend, a lion, she almost fainted. She couldn’t think how her son befriended a lion. Lions are good predators and will never give up an opportunity to attack an animal, espcially a baby elephant like her son is an easy prey for a lion.

Without uttering a single word, the mother elephant hurriedly took her son back home and scolded him for finding a lion as its friend. She told the young lion how dangerous it is to befriend a lion.

“These lions are just unpredictable. When they become hungry, they will take no time to kill and eat you,” the mother elephant warned the baby elephant.

“I am sorry, mother. I will never leave you. Next time, I will choose my friend wisely,” said the baby elephant.

The mother elephant hugged her baby.

“You are such a good boy. I don’t have to worry about anything,” she said to the baby elephant.
