Glad To Meet You

Deep in the heart of the blue valley, a little elephant stepped toward the sparkling river. He was still learning all about the magnificent features that made him an elephant.

As he dipped his heavy, sturdy feet into the cool water, a tiny splash caught his eye. A little grey fish swam right up to the bank, looking up with big, round eyes.

The little elephant lowered his long, wrinkled trunk. It could reach the highest branches, stretch down to the deepest pools, and breathe like a built-in snorkel. He gently sniffed the water, his trunk twitching with curiosity.

"Hello there," the little fish seemed to bubble, waving its tail fin. "What a wonderful nose you have!"

The elephant smiled, fanning his large, leafy ears to catch the sound. His ears were like giant fans, keeping him perfectly cool on the warmest days and listening to every secret whisper of the forest.

With a strong, gentle step, the elephant realized that being big and sturdy meant he could visit the river safely, making friends with the smallest creatures in the world.
