The Big Roar

Now I can Roar

One bright morning, the mighty lion woke up, stretched his paws, and opened his mouth to give his usual wake-up roar. But nothing happened. Not a single sound came out of his throat! He tried again, puffing out his chest and straining with all his might, but the forest remained completely silent.

"Oh dear," the lion thought, big tears welling up in his eyes. "A king without a roar cannot be king at all. What am I going to do?"

As the sad lion sat crying under a tree, a clever little fox trotted by. Seeing the great king in tears, the fox stopped. "What is the matter, Your Majesty?" he asked gently.

The lion pointed to his throat and shook his head sadly. The quick-witted fox understood right away. "Don't worry," the fox whispered kindly. "I can help you. Deep in the valley, there grows a magical golden herb that can cure any throat trouble. Let us go find it together."

The lion nodded gratefully, and the two new friends set off.

After walking for a long time, their paws grew tired, so they sat down beneath a shady bush to take a rest. Before long, a gentle young deer came prancing down the path. When the deer heard about the king’s lost voice, his eyes went wide with adventure. "I know these woods well," the deer said proudly. "Let me help you find the way!"

Now a team of three, they marched on until they reached a beautiful, hidden mountain valley. Right in the center grew the magical herb, its leaves glittering in the sun. But there was a catch—a giant, sleepy serpent was coiled right around the base of the plant, guarding it closely.

"Hush," whispered the deer, using his long ears to listen closely. "We must hide and wait."

The three friends ducked behind a large rock, keeping perfectly still. They watched and waited patiently until, finally, the serpent uncoiled itself and slithered away into the tall grass to look for its lunch.

"Now is our chance," the fox whispered.

With quiet, careful steps, the nimble fox crept across the clearing. He gently plucked the magical herb with his teeth and hurried back to the hiding spot.

The lion eagerly ate the green leaves. For a moment, everything was quiet. The deer held his breath, and the fox watched closely. The lion took a deep breath, puffed out his chest, and opened his mouth.

ROOOAARRR! A magnificent, booming roar echoed across the mountains and shook the leaves on the trees. The king’s voice was back, louder and stronger than ever before!

The lion smiled a grand, happy smile. He thanked his two brave friends, realizing that while his roar made him a king, it was his wonderful helpers who made him truly lucky.
