Once upon a time, in a sunny jungle, there was a frog named Freddie who loved to jump. Freddie was always hopping here, there, and everywhere, hoping to jump higher and higher each day.
One day, while Freddie was practicing his jumps, he heard a deep, rumbly voice behind him.
“That was a good jump,” said Leo the Lion, who was watching Freddie from under a big tree.
Freddie puffed up with pride. “Thanks, Leo! I’m going to be the best jumper in the whole jungle!” he said with a big smile. “One day, I’m going to jump over the moon!”
Leo chuckled. “Jump over the moon? That’s a big jump, Freddie! Are you sure?”
“Oh, I’m sure! And I’ve got a plan!” Freddie winked.
The next morning, Freddie got up early and went around the jungle, asking his friends for help. He asked Sally the Snake if she would slither up a tall tree so he could jump off her back. He asked Ollie the Owl to give him flying lessons. And he even asked Benny the Bear if he could bounce off his belly.
After lots of practice, Freddie felt ready. All his friends gathered around to cheer him on. Leo sat in the crowd, laughing but curious. “Let’s see this, Freddie!” he called.
Freddie took a deep breath, crouched low, and… jumped! Up, up, up he went, past the bushes, past the trees, past Sally the Snake’s long neck, and even past Leo’s big mane. But… instead of going over the moon, he landed right on top of Leo’s head!
Leo laughed so hard, his big belly shook. “Well, Freddie, you didn’t jump over the moon, but you did jump over a lion, and that’s pretty impressive!”
Freddie laughed too. “I guess you’re right, Leo! Maybe next time, I’ll aim for a little less moon and a bit more jungle!”
And from that day on, Freddie became known as the frog who almost jumped over the moon – and who could definitely jump over a lion!
