Barnaby the tiger was having a great day. He was lounging on the grass, daydreaming about his next big lunch.
"I am the most powerful predator in the whole wide world," Barnaby boasted to himself, puffing out his furry chest. "Nothing can hunt me down. I’m the biggest, baddest cat in the jungle!" He felt like he was on top of the world.
But right at that moment, Barnaby felt a weird, heavy tug on his tail. Yank!
He glanced over his shoulder. His big tiger eyes went wide with horror. Staring back at him were the sneaky, shining eyes of a giant crocodile! The croc had a firm grip on Barnaby's tail and was trying to drag him backward into the muddy river.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no!" Barnaby panicked, his tough-guy attitude completely disappearing. "I’m trapped! Somebody help! Who can save me?!" The "mighty" tiger started crying big, dramatic tears.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! Suddenly, the ground started to shake. Out of the bushes crashed a massive elephant!
Without wasting a single second, the elephant yelled, "Not on my watch, Gator!" and swung its massive foot—BAM! The elephant kicked the crocodile right in the snout. CHOMP! The surprised croc let go of the tail and splashed backward into the river.
Barnaby was safe! He wiped his tears, looked at his bruised tail, and realized that maybe being the "most powerful predator" meant nothing if you don't have good friends to look out for you.
