Baby Elephant Wants To Swim

Will you teach me to swim?

The baby elephant, with his wrinkly skin and curious eyes, watched the duck glide smoothly across the pond. "Hey, duck," he called out, his little trunk waving, "will you please teach me how to swim? It looks so easy for you!"

The duck paddled closer. "Oh, little one," she quacked gently, "it might look easy, but if you could see my legs under the water! I have to paddle them super fast just to keep moving. Most of you on land don't realize how much work goes into swimming unless you look beneath the surface."

She then added kindly, "But don't worry! I saw your mother swimming around in the water earlier. She looked like she was having a wonderful time. You can learn to swim from her."

The baby elephant's ears perked up. "Really? My mama knows how to swim?"

"Yes, indeed," the duck chirped.

"Thank you for telling me," the baby elephant said, his voice full of excitement. "I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me."
