Arrogant Tiger And The Floodwater

The sleeping tiger was woke up hearing animals screaming and running.

“What’s the matter? Why is everybody running” the confused tiger asked an elephant, who was fleeing?

“There is a flood coming to our area. The flood waters could reach here anytime. Before that, run to the mountain to escape the flood waters”, said the elephant.

“Hey, who gave you this information?” the annoyed tiger asked.

“We got the information from the eagles flying above in the sky. They saw a dam had just burst out, and all the waters flooding the forest,” said the elephant.

“I won’t believe this hoax. Who said this nonsense? I am not going anywhere. No flood will dare to touch me,” said the arrogant tiger.

“It’s your wish. If you want to stay back, you are risking your life. We are leaving,”  said the elephant, and ran as fast as he could.

The tiger yawned and continued to sleep. After some time, the tiger woke up from sleep hearing strange sounds. But this time, it was not the sound of any fleeing animals, but it was the sound of trees falling.

When the tiger came out of its cave, and looked around, he was shocked. The flood waters already reached his place. Before it could do anything, the tiger was washed away by the flood. Somehow, the tiger managed to hold on to a rock.

“I was foolish staying back,” the tiger said to himself. It took a few days for the flood waters to reside. There was nothing to eat. Fear gripped the tiger.

After a few days, when the flood waters resided, the animals came back. What they saw shocked them. They saw a dead tiger sitting on a rock.
