A Desert Mystery

Deep in the heart of a quiet, sunlit desert lay a curious secret. Buried under a cozy mound of warm sand was an egg—not just any egg, but a giant, smooth dinosaur egg that had been safely hidden away since prehistoric times!

Suddenly, a tiny CRACK! echoed across the dunes.

A small crack turned into a wiggle, a wiggle turned into a wobble, and with a soft POP, the shell broke open. Out scrambled a tiny, dusty-pink dinosaur. He shook the sand from his tail, blinked at the big bright world around him, and wondered who he was.

"I need to find a place to hide," the little dinosaur squeaked, feeling very small in such a big desert. He decided to call himself Binky.

As Binky tiptoed between the sand dunes, he heard heavy, plodding footsteps. THUMP, THUMP, THUMP. He scrambled behind a high rock just as a tall, friendly camel with giant black boots stomped into view.

"Hey, don't tell anyone that you saw me! I'm prehistoric and not supposed to be here," Binky whispered nervously, peeking out from behind the rock.

The camel was taken completely aback! He stopped in his tracks and blinked his big, expressive eyes.

"Can we be friends?" the camel asked with a warm, gentle smile.

Binky’s worries melted away. "Sure! I'll introduce myself—I'm Binky."

"And I'm Junky!" replied the camel proudly.

"Hey, our names rhyme!" Binky cheered, bouncing up and down on his little feet.

Both of them burst out laughing, their worries forgotten. From that day on, the prehistoric dinosaur and the big-footed camel were inseparable. They spent their days racing across the rolling dunes, playing hide-and-seek behind giant rocks, and sharing the grandest adventure a desert had ever seen.
