The First Swimming Lesson Of An Elephant

One sunny day, an elephant came to a duck with a special request. He wanted to learn how to swim like a duck.

“Why not?” said the duck happily. “I’m glad you came to me. I will teach you.”

The duck explained, “When I’m in the water, my legs are constantly paddling, but you can’t see that. Above the water, you see a calm duck, but under the water, my legs are always working.”

“Oh, I see,” said the elephant. “That’s new information for me.”

“Now, get into the water,” said the duck. “When you move to the deeper area, you have to constantly move all your four legs to keep yourself afloat.”

The elephant stepped into the water and started to follow the duck’s advice. Soon, he was swimming happily, just like a duck!

And from that day on, the elephant enjoyed swimming in the water, always remembering the duck’s helpful lesson.
