The sun was shining brightly over the meadow, and Daisy the cow was happily munching on some fresh grass. Suddenly, she heard a curious “Quack!”
Looking down, Daisy saw a tiny duckling swimming in the nearby pond. The duckling was staring up at her with wide, curious eyes.
“Hello there,” Daisy mooed gently. “What’s your name?”
“I’m Donald,” the duckling quacked. “And you are…?”
“I’m Daisy,” the cow replied. “What are you doing in the pond?”
Donald puffed out his chest. “I’m practicing my swimming! I want to be the best swimmer in the whole pond!”
Daisy chuckled. “You’re off to a good start, Donald! You look very graceful.”
Donald blushed. “Thank you, Daisy! You’re very kind. But I’m a little worried. I’m not sure I’ll ever be as good as my big brothers and sisters.”
Daisy smiled. “Everyone starts somewhere, Donald. Keep practicing, and you’ll be a champion swimmer in no time.”
Donald felt encouraged. “Thank you, Daisy! You’re the best!”
From that day on, Donald practiced swimming every day. He would watch the older ducks gliding through the water and try to imitate their graceful movements. And every day, Daisy would watch him with a smile, cheering him on.
Finally, the day of the big pond race arrived. Donald, a little nervous but determined, lined up with the other ducklings. The starting whistle blew, and they were off! Donald paddled with all his might, his little legs churning furiously.
He wasn’t the fastest, but he never gave up. He kept swimming and swimming, his determination growing with each stroke. And in the end, he crossed the finish line with a big smile on his face.
Daisy was so proud of him. “You did it, Donald!” she mooed. “You’re a wonderful swimmer!”
Donald quacked happily. “Thank you, Daisy! You believed in me!”
And so, Donald the duckling, thanks to his hard work and Daisy’s encouragement, became a confident and happy swimmer. He learned that with practice and perseverance, anything is possible.
