One day, when the lion woke up from his sleep, he was in for a big surprise: his nose had turned bright red.
"Oh, my God, I am going to die," the lion whispered to himself. "I have to get rid of this red nose before someone spots it, or I will be removed from the kingship."
Panicked, the lion rushed to the fox, who was famous for providing solutions to the problems of all the forest animals. The fox studied the lion's nose intently.
"Um, this is very serious," the fox said gravely. "Let me perform some magic to get rid of your problem. Shut your eyes."
The lion squeezed his eyes shut. The fox then gently picked off the red bug that was sitting on the lion's nose and tossed it away.
"Now open your eyes," said the fox. "You are cured."
When the lion opened his eyes, he couldn't believe it—his red nose was gone! Overjoyed, he thanked the fox and gifted him some precious meat he had stored in his cave. The fox, pleased with his cleverness and the tasty meal, went on his way happy and full.
