Rat And The Lion

Are you saying you can help me?

One day, a lion became annoyed by a tiny rat and decided to get rid of him. Terrified, the rat pleaded for his life, promising the lion that he would return the favor if the king of the jungle were ever in danger. The lion laughed heartily at the thought of a tiny rodent helping him, but amused by the offer, he decided to let the rat go.

A few days later, the lion’s luck ran out. He was captured by hunters and trapped beneath a heavy, tightly woven rope net. Despite his immense strength, the lion could not break free; the ropes were simply too thick. Frustrated and helpless, he let out a thunderous roar that echoed through the forest.

Hearing the desperate cry, the rat rushed to the scene. "Your majesty, please calm down," the rat urged. "I am going to save you."

True to his word, the rat immediately set to work, gnawing at the thick ropes with his sharp teeth. The net was incredibly strong, and it took hours of exhausting, hard work, but the little rat refused to give up. Finally, the final strand snapped, and the lion was free at last.

"You have fulfilled your promise," the lion said gratefully. "Thank you."

The rat smiled, happy to have helped, and scampered back to his home, while the lion returned safely to his own den, forever realizing that even the smallest friend can be of great value.
