It was a beautiful, sunny morning on the pond, and all the ducklings were playing their favorite game: hide-and-seek! Pip, a little duck with bright yellow feathers, was the best at hiding. He waddled away from the group, looking for the perfect spot. He saw a big, leafy bush and thought, "This is it!"
As he looked up to find the perfect hiding spot, a shadow fell over him. Pip looked up and froze with fear. A sly, orange fox with a hungry glint in his eyes was staring right at him! Before Pip could even let out a squeak, the fox pounced and caught him.
Pip's big brother, Pat, saw the whole thing happen. He loved his brother very much and didn't know what to do. His little heart was beating like a drum. Just then, a large, friendly-looking crocodile named Mr. Croc glided by on the water.
"Hey, Mr. Croc, can you please help me?" Pat quacked, his voice trembling. "A mean fox just took my brother, Pip!"
Mr. Croc, who was known for his kind heart and strong tail, heard what Pat said. "A fox, you say?" he rumbled in a low voice. "I won't let any sneaky predators cause trouble in my home! Let's go get your brother back!"
Pat and Mr. Croc set off right away. They searched high and low, until Mr. Croc's sharp eyes spotted something wiggling in a big, thorny bush. It was the fox, trying to sneak away with Pip!
Mr. Croc crept up quietly, so the fox wouldn't hear him. With a mighty swing, he gave the fox's hiding place a strong hit with his powerful tail. The bush shook, and the fox stumbled out, shocked. Pip, who was a bit dizzy, was able to wiggle free and run right into Pat's open wings!
The fox, startled and dizzy from the surprise hit, ran away as fast as he could. Pat and Pip thanked Mr. Croc over and over again. They had a happy reunion and from that day on, the ducks and the friendly croc were the best of friends, and everyone felt safe in the pond once more.
