Kitten And The Bird

A little bird was perched high on a branch. She looked down and saw a tiny kitten walking all alone.

The kitten looked very young. His fur was soft, and his eyes were wide. The little bird knew the kitten was too small to be out by himself! “Oh dear,” thought the bird. “He needs help!”

The kind little bird quickly flew up, up, up! She circled around until she saw something else: a big cat! The mother cat was sitting under a tree, and she was crying! “Meow! Meow! Where is my baby?” she wept.

The little bird zipped down to the mother cat. “Cheep! Cheep! Don’t cry!” sang the bird. “I saw your little kitten! Follow me!”

The mother cat looked up and quickly followed the helpful bird.

The bird flew right back to where the tiny kitten was waiting. When the mother cat saw her baby, she was so happy she purred a huge, rumbling PURR! She nudged her little one close.

The mother cat looked at the kind little bird. “Thank you, thank you!” she purred. “You saved the day!”

The little bird chirped happily and flew away, glad that she had helped a friend.
