One day, a lion caught a rat red-handed. The rat was trying to steal from the Lion’s cave.
“I am going to kill you,” said the angry lion.
“Please, please let me go. If you let me go, I can help later,” said the rat.
“Ha, Ha, Ha, what help a silly rat like you can do me. Anyway, I am letting you go. It’s not because of your offer for help, but I hate killing a dirty rat like you,” said the lion. The rat ran away.
After a few days, the lion was hunting in the jungle. Suddenly, he was covered by a net and fell from the top of the tree.
“Oh, my god. I’m trapped,” the lion said to himself. He tried to free himself from the net. But the more he tried, the more entangled the net was. So he abandoned his attempt and waited for his last journey where the lion hunters would take him.
It was a night. The lion saw a pair of eyes shining in the dark. It was the same rat he let go a few days ago.
“Hey, Mr. Lion. Don’t worry. I am going to keep my promise. I will free you from the net,” said the rat. The rat slowly started working on the net. The rat with its sharp teeth began to cut the net. Within a few hours of hard work, the whole net was in pieces.
“Here you are, Mr. Lion. You are free to go now,” said the rat.
The lion thanked the rat for saving its life from the hunters. From that day onwards, the lion learned a big lesson. Never estimate anybody based on the size.
