Hippo And The Crocodile

Once upon a time, there was a big, friendly hippo who was super hot! All the ponds in the forest had dried up, and his large body needed a cool dip. He looked everywhere, under trees and over hills, but no luck!

After searching for a very, very long time, the hippo finally saw it! A big, shimmery pond! "Yay!" he thought, "This is perfect for cooling down!" As soon as he dipped his toes in the water, a loud voice boomed, "STOP RIGHT THERE!"

It was a grumpy crocodile! "This pond belongs to us crocodiles!" snapped the croc. "No other silly animals are allowed!"

"Oh, please, sir," said the hippo kindly. "I just need to cool my big body for a little while, and then I'll go." But the crocodile shook his head. "No way!" he growled.

Guess what the hippo did? He took a big step right into the water! The crocodile gasped! He was so shocked, and then he started to fight the hippo. It was a splashy, rolly, big fight! But guess who won? The hippo! He gave the crocodile a gentle push right out of the pond!

"This pond belongs to hippos now!" shouted the hippo with a happy splash.

"Oh, dear hippo," cried the crocodile, who was looking a bit sad. "I'm so sorry! I was wrong. Please let me stay in the pond too. Let's be friends and share!"

"That's what I was trying to tell you from the start!" said the hippo with a big smile. "Come on in, let's share this lovely pond!"

And from that day on, the crocodile and the hippo lived happily ever after in their shared pond, splashing and playing together!
