The Hippo and His Helpful Friend

One day, a bird flew down to visit his friend, the Hippo. It was one of his usual visits, but today, something was different. The Hippo appeared deeply saddened.

"Hey, what's the matter? Why are you so sad?" asked the bird, tilting his head.

"Look at this river," the Hippo replied, tears welling in his eyes. "It is fast drying up. I don't know where I will go to cool my big body when all the water in this river is finally gone."

The bird chirped encouragingly. "Don't worry, Mr. Hippo. I will go and find a solution to your problem." With that, the bird took to the sky and flew away.

A New Hope After a few days, the bird returned. By then, the river had almost completely vanished, leaving behind nothing but cracked mud.

"I have good news for you, Mr. Hippo!" the bird sang. "I’ve found a magnificent pond where you can cool your big body without any worries. There is plenty of water there."

The Hippo’s heart leaped with joy. He followed the bird through the brush until they reached the hidden oasis. It was a massive pond, shimmering with deep, cool water. The Hippo let out a booming laugh and thanked the bird for saving him from the heat.
