One sunny morning in the jungle, a big Elephant named Elly was walking near the tall mountains. Suddenly, Elly noticed something worrying: the river was getting fuller and fuller!
"Oh no!" thought Elly. "It’s been raining so much up in the mountains! The water is coming this way!"
Elly quickly flapped her big ears and hurried to the Lion King’s sunny spot.
"Your Majesty, King Lion!" Elly trumpeted loudly. "The river water is rising fast! It’s flooding because of the mountain rain!"
The wise Lion King looked up. "Thank you for telling me, Elly! You must warn everyone right now!" he commanded.
Elly took a big, deep breath to make her voice strong. She trumpeted as loud as she possibly could across the whole forest:
"Hear ye, hear ye, friends! The river is going to flood! Everyone needs to move to higher ground right away! Run to safety, away from the water!"
All the little monkeys, the speedy deer, the slow tortoises, and every other animal heard Elly’s loud warning. They quickly packed up their families and scampered to the safe, dry hills just as the floodwaters rushed in!
When the rain stopped and the water went down, all the animals cheered for Elly.
"Hooray for Elly the Elephant!" they shouted. "You saved us all with your quick thinking and loud voice!"
Elly just smiled, feeling proud that she had been brave enough to share the important news.
