Fearless Duck And The Crocodile

Once upon a time, in a big, blue pond, lived a very loud crocodile named snappy. Snappy loved to make a big splash and try to scare all the little creatures in the water.

One sunny afternoon, Snappy saw a little grey duck floating peacefully. "Aha!" thought Snappy, "I'll give this duck the fright of its life!"

So, Snappy opened his huge mouth, showed all his teeth, and roared the biggest roar he could manage! "ROOOOOOAR!"

But guess what? The little grey duck didn't even flinch! It just kept floating, bobbing gently on the waves. Snappy roared again, even louder, "ROOOOAAAAARRRR!" Still, nothing!

Snappy was so confused. No one had ever ignored his mighty roar before! He swam a little closer and peered at the duck. That's when he realized... this wasn't a real duck at all! It was a sturdy little toy duck, made of plastic, that someone had accidentally left in the pond.

Snappy couldn't help but chuckle. He had been trying to scare a toy! From that day on, Snappy still roared sometimes, but he also learned to laugh at himself, especially when he saw his un-scare-able toy duck floating by.
