Deep in the heart of the whispering woods, Tala the Tigress was resting in the tall grass. Suddenly, her ears twitched. She didn't hear the usual rustle of leaves or the song of a bird. Instead, she heard a tiny, lonely sniffle.
Tala stood up and followed the sound. Peeking behind a giant mossy rock, she found a small bear cub. His fur was fuzzy and grey, and his eyes were filled with big, salty tears.
"I can't find my Mama," the cub whimpered, his voice shaking.
Tala didn't look scary at all. She knelt down, her orange fur glowing like a sunset. "Don't cry, little one," she purred softly. "I will stay right here with you. You aren't alone."
She wrapped her long, striped tail around the cub like a warm hug. The cub felt safe and soon stopped crying.
A few moments later, a loud crunch-crunch-crunch came from the bushes. Out popped Mama Bear! She had been looking everywhere.
Tala gave the cub a gentle nudge toward his mother. "He was very brave," Tala said with a friendly nod.
Mama Bear nuzzled her cub close, giving Tala a look of deep thanks. The two different families shared a quiet moment in the forest, proving that you don’t have to look alike to be kind to one another.
