Another Banana Story

Jolly elephant was fond of bananas. But to his dismay, there were no banana trees growing anywhere nearby. He would often sigh, "Oh, if only I had some sweet, yellow bananas to munch on!"

One day, a clever little monkey with a mischievous glint in his eyes swung down from a tree. "Hey, Mr. Elephant!" he chattered, "I have a deal for you. I'll show you a secret place full of yummy bananas if you take me on a safari ride. My friends made a bet that I'd never ride a real elephant!"

The elephant's ears perked up at the mention of bananas. "A safari ride? On my back? Why not! Hop on, little one! We're going on an adventure!" he trumpeted excitedly, already dreaming of a feast.

The monkey giggled with delight as he settled onto the elephant's massive back. "Take that road!" he squeaked, pointing his tiny finger down a path the elephant had never noticed before. The elephant followed the monkey's directions, his heart thumping with anticipation. Soon, they reached a huge field with endless rows of banana trees, their branches heavy with ripe, yellow fruit.

"Wow!" the elephant exclaimed, his eyes as wide as dinner plates. "Bananas, bananas everywhere!"

"Stay here and wait for me," the monkey said quickly, jumping off the elephant's back. "I'm going to go check if the coast is clear." The monkey didn't want the farmers to see them, so he scurried away to find the perfect bunch of bananas to bring back for his new friend.

The elephant patiently waited, humming a little tune and imagining the sweet, creamy taste of the bananas. He knew he'd have to thank the clever little monkey for his help in finding the best snack in the whole forest! After a few minutes, the monkey came back with a bunch of freshly plucked bananas in its hands. He gave it to the elephant. The elephant was happy to eat bananas. He wanted more, so the monkey again went inside and brought some more bananas. But the elephant still needed more bananas, as he was greedy. Next time, when the monkey went inside the plantation workers saw the monkey. They chased the monkey out of the plantation and saw the elephant. The elephant got afraid and started running. The monkey jumped from tree to tree and reached its home. The elephant was waiting there for the monkey.

"You spoiled everything. Your greedy attitude made everything a mess," said the monkey.

"I am sorry, dear. I should have controlled myself," said the elephant with tears in its eyes.
