Using Facebook For Blog Promotion
Many popular blogs are installing Facebook comment plugin and view it as very effective in comment management. Facebook social comment plugin is great to reach out many readers as it could make your blog going viral with the comments and make interaction a lot smoother and troublefree.
Recently I installed this plugin along with my IntenseDebate plugin for a while. I’m waiting for the results and expect more comments from enabling it. Installation was simple as I followed a tutorial that teaches you how to integrate this comment plugin that involves pasting some code in header and comments page, but the question, is it really worth it to have this plugin? deserves attention.
Why your blog needs Facebook Comments ?
Social traffic comes only from social interactions and facebook comment plugin offers a great deal of exposure that way. Another advantage advocates of this comment tool pointing out is that it helps to fight comment spamming in a very productive way and at the same time enhancing the comment quality and blog promotion. I find that many of those popular blogs, which receives lot of comments have already engaged Facebook comment plugin to manage the comments they receive in their blogs.
Two Concerns
The main concerns about this plugin as of now is that there is no way to detect any new comments that appear in your blog, so that you can’t promptly make a reply. Only when people reply to your comment you’ll come to know about it and this process really harms your interactions through your blog. Another concern is that it doesn’t contribute to your SEO unlike other comment plugins.
Why I like this Comment Plugin
Apart from the shortcomings, I like it because it makes your posts quite interactive and make comment sharing easy through Facebook accounts. The default settings post to the wall, makes sharing all at once which helps to bring real social referral traffic to your blog. It’s an experiment I started of with with my blog to find out how it could get more followers by just not promoting it by any other means other than Facebook comments. I am working on a strategy where I could return the comments I receive, provided those are really encouraging and initiates a discussion ultimately creating a social platform for similar discussions. If you have installed this plugin, please share your feedback.
